Gradle clean out directory

From version 4.10 onwards, Gradle automatically cleans its user home directory. The cleanup runs in the background when the Gradle daemon is stopped or shuts down. If using --no-daemon, it runs in the foreground after the build session with a visual progress indicator.

Removes the build directory for the module as well as all artifacts for this module from the staging and deploy directories. Use this to remove all evidence of your having built a module. Combines undeployModule and clean to remove the build, staging and deployment directories for a module.

You can safely delete the whole.gradle folder located under project directory. It’ll be recreated every time the tasks are run. The same is for.gradle under home directory. It’ll also be recreated as well, but the whole dependencies must be downloaded again – it’s quite time-consuming.

The `clean` task only deletes the build directory so there shouldn't be any issue. Setting the classes directory to a directory outside of buildDir is custom and will need to be added to the clean task.

Sometimes "gradle clean" fails as well, e.g.: Execution failed for task ':clean'. > Unable to delete directory 'C:\dev\ServerAdminApp\build' Failed to delete some children. This might happen because a process has files open or has its working directory set in the target directory.

Similar to the Android plugin's clean task that clears your project’s build/ directories, you can run the cleanBuildCache task to clear your project’s build cache. If a project specifies a non-default directory for its build cache, running the task from that project clears only that cache (and not the shared cache in the default location).

Gradle delete contents of directory

task makePretty (type: Delete) { delete 'uglyFolder', 'uglyFile' followSymlinks = true } Be default symlinks will not be followed when deleting files. To change this behavior call Delete.setFollowSymlinks (boolean) with true. On systems that do not support symlinks, this will have no effect.

Yes, you can use the project.delete () method with a FileCollection. This will delete everything, but JAR files: project.delete (files ("$ {buildDir}/libs") { exclude '*.jar' }) However, based on your posts, your overall approach seems a bit abnormal.

You can easily delete files and directories using either the Delete task or the Project.delete(org.gradle.api.Action) method. In both cases, you specify which files and directories to delete in a way supported by the Project.files(java.lang.Object… ) method.

The project root directory contains all source files that are part of your project. In addition, it contains files and directories that are generated by Gradle such as .gradle and build. While the former are usually checked in to source control, the latter are transient files used by Gradle to support features like incremental builds.

In Gradle 3.4 (), Gradle can delete the output folder. This is causing my Bnd Gradle plugin issues since it makes sure the output folders exist (and creates them if necessary) during evaluation, but then the directories are missing during execution because #1018 runs after all evaluation is complete.

Gradle clean delete directory

This problem was discussed on the mailing list.In case you change the default classes directory the clean task doesn't delete the directory. Apparently, it only works on build/classes.

In such case special attention must be paid when deleting the content of this directory. The.gradle/caches directory holds the Gradle build cache. So if you have any error about build cache, you can delete it.

I can't think of an explanation for this one. The Liquibase plugin doesn't do anything with the clean task. The file that Gradle can't delete appears to be the final artifact of your module, and the Liquibase plugin should not be any part of your project's jar.

This would enable incremental compilation as we would know which files to remove when a proto file is deleted to keep everything up to date. Saving the processed information in a temporary file would enable both incremental compilation and cleaning. The only problem is the duplicate information between protoc and Gradle.

Gradle FileTree

ConfigurableFileTree, SourceDirectorySet public interface FileTree extends FileCollection A FileTree represents a hierarchy of files. It extends FileCollection to add hierarchy query and manipulation methods.

The FileTree interface extends FileCollection, so you can treat a file tree exactly the same way as you would a file collection. Several objects in Gradle implement the FileTree interface, such as source sets. One way to obtain a FileTree instance is to use the Project.fileTree () method.

Gradle is an open-source build automation tool focused on flexibility and performance. Gradle build scripts are written using a Groovy or Kotlin DSL. Read about Gradle features to learn what is possible with Gradle.

Gradle represents the scope of a dependency with the help of a Configuration. Every configuration can be identified by a unique name. Many Gradle plugins add pre-defined configurations to your project.

Gradle delete fileTree

prints only the file and not the directory, as the directory is traversed. Your solution is good but you could save some chars: [ "subdir", "aFile", ].each { clean.delete ("a/$it") } So fileTree is just for files in a directory tree and not for directories.

public class Delete extends org.gradle.api.internal.ConventionTask implements DeleteSpec Deletes files or directories.

A FileTree represents a hierarchy of files. It extends FileCollection to add hierarchy query and manipulation methods. You typically use a FileTree to represent files to copy or the contents of an archive. You can obtain a FileTree instance using Project.fileTree(java.util.Map), Project.zipTree(Object) or Project.tarTree(Object).

When the task is executed, the output is: The size of this file tree is: 0. This issue appears to have been discovered before and has a ticket created for it in the old issue tracker, but it seems it wasn't ported over.

Converts this collection to a FileTree, if not already. For each file in this collection, the resulting file tree will contain the source file at the root of the tree. For each directory in this collection, the resulting file tree will contain all the files under the source directory.

Unable to start the daemon process. This problem might be caused by incorrect configuration of the daemon. For example, an unrecognized jvm option is used.

Gradle dsl delete

delete is a property of the task, and uses 'setter notation' to be set. It accepts a Set, so using the kotlin setOf syntax, you can define a set of the "file like" types that Gradle supports.

A Task is made up of a sequence of Action objects. When the task is executed, each of the actions is executed in turn, by calling Action.execute(T).You can add actions to a task by calling Task.doFirst(org.gradle.api.Action) or Task.doLast(org.gradle.api.Action).

Gradle file path

Each path in the supplied list is treated as the path of a project to add to the build. Note that these path are not file paths, but instead specify the location of the new project in the project hierarchy. As such, the supplied paths must use the ':' character as separator (and NOT '/').

In Windows File Explorer move the.gradle folder to the new location. Move by either by dragging and dropping while holding the Shift key, or using the File Explorer context menu (normally right-click) and selecting cut, and then paste to the new location. Next access the Settings for the Android Studio.

Extract the downloaded zip file named gradle-2.11-all.zip and copy the distribution files from Downloads\gradle-2.11\ to C:\gradle\ location. After that add the C:\gradle and C:\gradle\bin directories to the GRADLE_HOME and PATH system variables.

In File Explorer right-click on the This PC (or Computer) icon, then click Properties → Advanced System Settings → Environmental Variables. Under System Variables select Path, then click Edit. Add an entry for C:\Gradle\gradle-6.6.1\bin. Click OK to save.

This adds two subprojects named foo/sub1 and foo/sub2.This causes problems in Eclipse and Sonar because the slash is not allowed in project names. This happens to work because we convert the project path + name into a file path, which happens to line up with the actual project layout.
